He is particularly involved in paediatric neuro-ophthalmology and rare disorders, paediatric anterior segment, and oculomotor surgery. His fields of research are eye movements development and disorders, and retinal pathophysiology. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, 40 book chapters and 200 invited lectures. 

He is the president elect of the European Paediatric Ophthalmology Society, past president of the Club de Neuro-Opthalmologie Francophone, treasurer of the Société de Neuro-Ophtalmologie Pédiatrique, the Association Française d’Ophtalmologie Pédiatrique, and the Société Française de Rétine Pédiatrique.
