Dr Ian FLITCROFT

Professor Ian Flitcroft is a paediatric ophthalmologist and principal investigator with over 30 years’ experience in experimental myopia, spanning computational modelling, optical control of eye growth, and clinical trials. Based at the Centre for Eye Research Ireland (CERI), Europe’s largest myopia trial centre, he leads the Big Data group developing AI tools for myopia risk assessment and management. A PI on numerous myopia control trials, he is also a leading advocate for recognising the public health impact of myopia and advancing biological treatments to prevent its long-term complications.
